Academy Coaches’ Bios

Shawn Burns


USSF “D”.  Shawn been coaching for Brookfield Soccer since 2005.  He has coached various age groups, including Academy, U-11, U-12, U-13 girls.  In 2010, he led the BSA U13 girls’ premier red team to the semi-finals of State Cup. He strives to develop the technical skills of all his players so they are prepared for the next level of soccer in the select program at BSA.  Shawn has worked as an assistant coach for the Sussex Hamilton girls’ varsity soccer program.  He is currently the varsity girls’ assistant coach at New Berlin Eisenhower High School.  Besides being a coach, Shawn is a teacher in the Menomonee Falls School District, where he has worked for 13 years.  He teaches physical education and works with students with special needs.  Shawn has undergraduate degrees in physical education, health, adaptive physical education, as well as a master’s degree in administrative leadership.

USSF “B”.  Coach Kyle has been on staff with Brookfield Soccer since 2009.  Currently, Kyle is the recreational coaching director for the club and is the U7/8 Academy coach for both boys and girls. Prior to joining BSA, Kyle was a staff coach for the Bavarian Soccer Club from 2005-2008.  Kyle also was a varsity assistant coach for Divine Savior Holy Angels High School from 2009-2012 and Marquette University High School from 2008-2011.  During this time both schools won multiple division one Wisconsin State Championships.  Kyle played collegiate soccer at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee from 2000-2003, where he received a bachelor degree in elementary education.  Kyle also played for the Milwaukee Wave from 2009-2011, winning a MISL Championship in 2011.

Mark Lambrecht


USSF National “B”.  Mark has more than twenty years of coaching experience in the state of Wisconsin. From 1991 to 2013, Mark coached various age groups for the Milwaukee Kickers and FC Milwaukee, where his teams won numerous league and state titles.  Mark also was the head coach at Mukwonago High School from 1994 – 2001, leading the team to several conference championships, six straight state championships, and one state runner-up finish. Mark joined the BSA coaching staff in fall 2014 and has coached a variety of age groups including Academy, U11/U12, and high school boys and girls.  Besides coaching, Mark is a teacher at Mukwonago High School where he has taught world history for the past 22 years.


USSF “E”.  In his fifth year on the BSA staff, Tenzin is known for his technical training sessions and his ability to demonstrate soccer skills at a very high level.  He has coached almost every age group, from academy to high school. Several of the teams he has coached are ranked among the top in Wisconsin.  Tenzin attended Madison West High School, where he was captain of the team, earned four varsity letters, and was named to the Madison All-City Team for two consecutive seasons.  He also earned Second Team, All-Big-Eight honors following his senior season.  Tenzin played college soccer at UWM, where he was a four-year starter for the Panthers.  While in college, he had the opportunity to play internationally as a member of the Tibet National Team in the 2006 ELF Cup in North Cyprus and was selected as UWM’s representative to the 2007 NCAA leadership conference in Florida.  Tenzin was drafted by the Wave in 2008 and is a current player and co-captain of the team.

2015 (Redshirt Junior)
Appeared in eight games on the season, starting the first four matches … tallied a pair of assists and one shot on the year … played all 90 minutes and assisted the UWM goal at Illinois State Aug. 28 … also had an assist in Milwaukee’s win over Chicago State Sept. 13 … named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll.

2014 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Appeared in five games, making two starts, as a sophomore … first action of the season came Sept. 24 against UIC, registering one shot … had one shot in 38 minutes against Green Bay Oct. 8 … made first collegiate start at Valparaiso Oct. 22 … assisted on the game-winner in a 3-1 win over Detroit Oct. 31 to close out the season.

2013 (Redshirt Freshman)
Made 11 appearances as a freshman … played 16 minutes against No. 11 Michigan in the NCAA Tournament … played eight minutes in a 3-0 blanking of Detroit in the Horizon League Tournament semifinal Nov. 8 … had a shot in a 2-0 win over Green Bay Oct. 23 … registered a shot on goal in a 2-0 win at Cleveland State Oct. 12 … had a shot in 22 minutes of action in a 2-1 win over Illinois State Sept. 20 … scored a goal and had two shots against Michigan State Aug. 25.

2012 (Freshman)
Redshirted the 2012 season and maintained freshman eligibility.

Brookfield East
Earned all-conference honors her last two seasons at Brookfield East High School … picked up a second-team award as a junior … tallied seven goals as a senior … played club soccer for Elm Grove Soccer Club alongside UWM teammate Abbey Hoerchner … also ran cross country … was an all-conference third-team selection and ran at sectionals.
