BSA U11-U13 Boys Coaching Staff

Tenzin

U11 & U12 Boys’ Red – TENZIN RAMPA, USSF “E”.  In his sixth year on the BSA staff, Tenzin is known for his technical training sessions and his ability to demonstrate soccer skills at a very high level.  He has coached almost every age group, from academy to high school. Several of the teams he has coached are ranked among the top in Wisconsin.  Tenzin attended Madison West High School, where he was captain of the team, earned four varsity letters, and was named to the Madison All-City Team for two consecutive seasons.  He also earned Second Team, All-Big-Eight honors following his senior season.  Tenzin played college soccer at UWM, where he was a four-year starter for the Panthers.  While in college, he had the opportunity to play internationally as a member of the Tibet National Team in the 2006 ELF Cup in North Cyprus and was selected as UWM’s representative to the 2007 NCAA leadership conference in Florida.  Tenzin was drafted by the Wave in 2008 and is a current player and co-captain of the team.

Hayden

U11 & U12 Boys’ WhiteHAYDEN KNIGHT, USSF “B”.  Coach Hayden is a seasoned professional coach that has over 20 years of experience coaching both boys and girls at Cedarburg High School.  Hayden leverages his vast experience as a collegiate, international, and professional player to train his team members to their highest possible potential.  He was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame as a coach and into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame as a player.

Coach Hayden attended Marquette University where he played on the men’s soccer team. Hayden Knight closed out his career as Marquette Soccer Program’s all-time leading goal scorer (52) and point producer (146 pts.) He also holds the NCAA record for career assists per game with 42 in 44 games. Marquette inducted Knight into the university’s Athletic Hall of Fame.  In 1984, Knight earned three caps with the U.S. national team. The three games all came within a week, as Knight played first on October 11 in a win over Colombia, followed by a loss three days later to Guatemala, and another loss three days after to Mexico.

Coach Hayden played professional soccer for 10 years for various teams, including the Chicago Sting, Montreal Manic, Atlanta Chiefs, and the Milwaukee Wave.

Mark LambrechtU13 Boys’ Red & White – MARK LAMBRECHT, USSF National “B”.  Mark has more than twenty years of coaching experience in the state of Wisconsin. From 1991 to 2013, Mark coached various age groups for the Milwaukee Kickers and FC Milwaukee. In 2014, Mark joined the BSA coaching staff and became head coach of several of our girls’ and boy’s high school teams.  He has coached numerous teams to league and ‘state titles. Mark also was the head coach at Mukwonago High School from 1994 – 2001, leading the team to several conference championships, six straight trips to the state championships, and one state runner-up finish. Mark is a teacher at Mukwonago High School where he has taught World History for the past 20 years.

Derrick Banks

U11 Girls’ Red – DERRICK BANKS, USSF “C”. Derrick grew up in Rapid City and played for the Dakota Gold Soccer Team. He played his high school soccer at St. Martin’s Academy in South Dakota and attended Black Hills State. He signed a professional soccer contract with the Wichita Wings of the MISL in 1993 and played with the Milwaukee Rampage a member of the outdoor professional A-League in 1994. He has coached in the Elmbrook School District for the past 20 years and is currently the head girls’ soccer coach at Brookfield East High School.  He also currently coaches the BSA U13 and U14 girls’ red teams.

Josh Thorpe
U11 & U12 Girls’ White – JOSH THORPE
, USSF “D”.  Josh grew up playing youth soccer for BSA, and later played for Brookfield Central High School. Josh began his coaching career as the Girls’ Junior Varsity coach at Brookfield Central, where he served for nine years and was an assistant coach for the varsity program that won four consecutive Wisconsin State Championships.

U12 & U13 Girls’ Red – MICHAEL KHANG, USSF “D”.  Michael moved to Wisconsin from Massachusetts where he was the coaching director and president of the Brockton Youth Soccer Association in Brockton Massachusetts.  While at BYSA, Michael supervised the development of more than 1,200 children in BYSA’s select and recreational program.  The club also fielded nine state champions and nine state finalist teams under his leadership.  In addition to his work in Brockton, Michael coached for the Explosions FC Club Elite Soccer Club in Attleboro, Massachusetts for nine years.  He also coached teams in various futsal leagues, winning a USSF National Futsal League championship in 2007 and the girl’s Regional Futsal Super F Futsal League championship in 2011.  Last year, Michael joined BSA as the select coach for the U11 and U12 girls’ red teams.  He also has worked as a select clinician for Brookfield Soccer.

Coaching and leadership Highlights

  • Coached teams that Won 17 State Cups & 3 Regional Cups (club won 4) and National Finalist.
  • Took a team to the National finals (1st team in Wisconsin to ever do that and one of only like 2-3 teams in the history to ever get that far),
  • Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame
  • Women’s Team at Carroll University won the school first Conference Championship
  • Super Y League – Coach Stoy had a U18 team reach the National Finals. 
  • Coached ODP: accomplishments (3 Midwest Regional Championships)

  • Technical Director Sockers FC Wisconsin Technical Director (December 2012 – May 2013); pre-merger Lake Country United Director of Coaching U15-U18 (2012 – November 2012).
  • Staff Coach Bavarian Soccer Club 2011-2012 season.
  • Director of Coaching Mequon United Soccer Club (1984-2010) Helped start the in 1984. Helped created Micro Soccer (U5-U7) & Academy Program (U8-U10)…the first of its kind in Wisconsin. Helped form the men’s program (U23 and Majors). The major’s team won 4 State Championships and a Midwest Championship in 1996. While Director of Coaching accomplishments included 42 State Cup Championships (youth and adult), 15 Regional Cup Semi-Finalists, 9 Regional Finalists, 4 Regional Championships, 3 National Finalists and Super Y League. Personal accomplishments included 17 State Championships and 5 Regional Finalists. Mike coached 3 All-Americans and over 10 players who have gone on to play professionally. Served as Super Y League Regional Head Coach for the Midwest. Over 250 of his players have gone on to play college soccer.
  • Started the first men’s team at Carroll College and ran that program for 7 years. Mike coached the women’s team which won the 1st Conference Championship for the college.
  • Wisconsin Olympic Development Program coach for 9 years and a Co-Director for 1 year. In that time Mike helped place over 20 players in ODP Regional Pools, two players made the National Team while 4 players made National Pools. 

Professional Information:

  • US Bank Home Mortgage Sales Manager since 2008; 26 year mortgage industry veteran. Presidents Club Winner 2013.

Playing Experience: 

  • Played at UW Whitewater (NAIA) where he was selected team captain and received most valuable defensive player his senior year. Mike grew up playing soccer for the United Serbians Soccer Club.
  • Mike is married to Ann and has 3 children Holli, Aleksandar and Emili. Aleks & Emili play soccer at BSA and Menomonee Falls HS.

U15 Boys’ White – HAYDEN KNIGHT

Bojan-Jovicic

U18 Boys’ Red – BOJAN JOVICIC, USSF “B”.  Bojan Jovicic is an international player from Belgrade, Serbia.  He played college soccer at UW-Parkside where he was an NCAA All-American and GLVC player of the year.  Bojan was part of the Illinois State Select team that won multiple regional and nationals titles from 2006-2008.  He is a former draft pick of indoor professional champion Milwaukee Wave soccer team.  Bojan has a bachelor’s degree in finance.  He currently works for US Bancorp Investments, Inc.  as a financial advisor associate.   Bojan has been coaching for Brookfield Soccer since 2010.   His coaching philosophy is based upon play, position and possession.  This relates to the continual movement of the ball and retention of it in when not in possession.   Bojan believes that winning is the consequence of playing well with the ball, while in possession through discipline, organization and tactical understanding.  The training sessions are based on high intensity with great emphasis on tactical and technical aspects of the game.  Bojan hopes to work his way up the coaching ladder and obtain his National A License, as coaching is his passion.
